Judah

And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.” Genesis 49:1

Judah the 4th born son of Jacob is being told a future prophecy as it pertains to his tribe.

“Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.”Genesis 49:8

Judah is arguably the most respected and renown tribe of the nation of Israel. Judah’s brethren would at a latter time pay homage and praise the tribe of Judah as the leader and head tribe of rulership.

“Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright. [2] For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's:)” 1 Chronicles 5:1-2

Although Reuben was the firstborn and in normal circumstances he would have received a double portion of the inheritance and been the head of the tribes, his transgression made that null and void. While his portion of the inheritance was passed down to Joseph, Judah would assume the head position because thru his bloodline the chief ruler David would come, who by him Yahawashi/Christ would come.

“Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:” II Samuel 7:8

“For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.” Hebrews 7:14

“And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king.” 1 Chronicles 18:20

David established order and righteousness within the Kingdom of Israel. Next to Christ there was no greater King in Israel.

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;” Philippians 2:10

All knees would bow at the name of Yahawashi. Jacob prophesied to Judah that through him his brethren would bring forth praise. Thus his name in the Hebrew tongue YaHaWaDah means praise the Lord.

“…. thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies;” Genesis 49:8

Judah would be a valiant and strong tribe. Future battles would be fought and Judah would prevail having a stronghold on his enemies and bringing nations into subjection.

“For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me. [40] Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me. [41] They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not. [42] Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.” Psalms 18:39-42

David had numerous nations in subjection and conquered all that crossed his path (II Samuel Chapter 8). In reading this chapter, you will see how David (Judah) would have his hand in the neck of his enemies. David completely subdued his enemies and made servants of many of them.

“…thy father's children shall bow down before thee.” Genesis 49:8

This should be clear now in understanding the prominent role David and Christ would play as it pertained to ruler ship.

“Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?” Genesis 49:9

Power and glory would not be all that Judah would be known for. Judah was known as a lion’s whelp. The lion is known as the king of the jungle, majestic and powerful, however, Judah would find themselves acting as whelps or cubs –immature, incapable of defending themselves, and would no longer possess the fear of the other nations.

“Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid? [12] The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin. [13] Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.” Nahum 2:11-13

Judah would eventually give up the fight for righteousness. This is how they have gone up from the prey. They would eventually find themselves in transgression and go into captivity under Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians in approximately 586 BC.

“Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.” Numbers 23:24

This scripture shows how relentless and strong Israel would represent themselves with the fierceness of a lion when we were in pursuit of righteousness. Jacob warned Judah that he would eventually lose that ferocity.

“The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken. [11] The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.” Job 4:10-11

“The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.” Psalms 34:10

“The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.” Genesis 49:10

The throne of ruler ship was to remain in Judah forever. There will never be another parting of the kingdom nor various kings from other tribes that will arise. Our Savior comes out of the tribe of Judah this is not debatable.

“And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. [13] He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.” II Samuel 7:12-13

This is the prophecy of Christ coming through the loins of David (Acts 2:29-30; Psalms132:11). The kingdom of Yahawashi will reign forever.

“Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; [3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; [4] Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.” Hebrews 1:2-4

“And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, [50] Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. [51] And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; [52] And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.” John 11:49-52

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. [3] And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. [4] And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.” Isaiah 2:2-4

Yahawashi (Jesus Christ) was sent to gather all the Children of Israel unto him. Thus unto him shall the gathering of the people be. We must always be conscious that our job is to gather the tribes of Israel with the intent to bring them to Christ, and not ourselves, churches, camps, etc…

“Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:” Genesis 49:10

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.” Zechariah 9:9

“And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples, [2] Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me. [3] And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. [4] All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, [5] Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.” Matthew 21:1-5

Jacob prophesied regarding Yahawashi bringing the knowledge and gospel of repentance and salvation to Israel. Christ will execute vengeance on his enemies by bathing himself in their blood. The blood of grapes is a metaphor for the blood of his enemies in particular the Nation of Edom (so-called White Man).

“Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. [2] Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? [3] I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. [4] For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. [5] And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.” Isaiah 63:1-5

“But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.”
Luke 19:27

“His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.” Genesis 49:12

Christ was prophesied to have red eyes due to him being a drinker of wine.

“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.” Matthew 11:19

“His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;” Revelations 1:14

“And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.” Deuteronomy 33:7
