Is it Lawful to Have Sex with a Harlot?

Warning, this article contains graphic descriptions some readers may not find suitable for their children. Like it or not some people don’t know. And some don’t want to know. But these questions come up. So much so that some camps teach it is lawful to marry or sleep with a harlot. But let us rather look to the law of liberty to gain an understanding.

Now one of the first arguments one may make in favor of sleeping with harlots is that you read people did in fact do it; or at least tried. Take Samson for example and many even mention Judah as well.

JUDAH

Genesis 38:13-16 KJVS

And it was told Tamar, saying, Behold thy father in law goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep. [14] And she put her widow's garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife. [15] When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face. [16] And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me?

Judah did not know who the woman was that he laid with as her face was covered, even during intercourse. And this was customary for some harlots as to conceal their identity to avoid shame and ridicule, especially at that time. But this was not counted against Judah as sleeping with a harlot as his daughter in law was not a harlot. It was judgment that rather when Tamar found out that Judah out of fear for his sons life withheld giving him unto her for a husband; not out of lust but to fulfill the law and the duty of a brother righteously, deceived her father in law to lay with her that she may bring in an heir for her husband.

Genesis 38:24-26 KJVS

And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. [25] When she was brought forth, she sent to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and bracelets, and staff. [26] And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more.

When accusations of Tamar being with child, seemingly playing the harlot as the whereabouts of the father are not yet known. Our forefathers understanding the law and the duty of a brother. It was thought that she should be burned. Yet it was revealed who she was and her intentions and with that understanding it was Judah who had to repent. As this occasion was done due to his sins in not fulfilling his duty according to the law. In essence, this is not a situation of Judah sleeping with a harlot. Only that it was his intentions too.

SAMSON

Judges 16:1 KJVS

Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.

Did Samson have sexual relations with a harlot? Yes! Does that mean he was just in doing so? No! Similar to other places in the scriptures, we read about the laws and the history of the choices people made concerning them. Yet, the law is always the filter. Just because our forefathers or foremothers did something that does not mean it was right!

Judges 19:1-4 KJVS

And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Beth–lehem–judah. [2] And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father's house to Beth–lehem–judah, and was there four whole months. [3] And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him into her father's house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him. [4] And his father in law, the damsel's father, retained him; and he abode with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there.

Here you have a Levite who had a wife who was a woman of another nation (hence concubine) who slept with another man and “played the harlot” meaning she wasn’t a harlot but took on the role due to her actions. Yet, this man did not bring forth judgement to have her stoned or even put her away but rather chose not to judge the matter (being a Levite who should know the law very well due to his tribe) and decided to take her back unto him as a wife. Now, should he have done that according to what we know the law says? No, he should not have taken her back. But he did. Why? Because keeping these laws is a choice. You decide if and when you will obey as different scenarios in life come up.

Why didn’t God judge Samson? Well who is to say he didn’t? Remember judgement is not always cookie cutter. And The Most High can judge you in different ways. Look at David for example. God could have put him to death but chose not to and gave him a different judgement.

2 Samuel 12:9-14 KJVS

Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. [10] Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife. [11] Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. [12] For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun. [13] And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. [14] Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

The Most High judged David for his adultery however, he did not kill him and the judgement being told unto him was swift but the actual action or event did not yet take place. It was going to happen at a later time. One can even look at how Samson died as his judgement.

Judges 16:20-21 KJVS

And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him. [21] But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

This is a form of judgment. HE was betrayed by the woman he was with. His eyes were gouged out so now he is blind. And now he is forced to work in those conditions.

Judges 16:25 KJVS

And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.

The Philistines even made him a jester and a form of entertainment for themselves.

Judges 16:28-31 KJVS

And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. [29] And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. [30] And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. [31] Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.

Samson died during that same time. And before his time being full of years. This can also be a form of judgement for his former sins as well. Taking all of this into account. I would not say Samson was not judged.

LAWFUL OR NO?

Deuteronomy 23:17 KJV

There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

The scriptures let us know that The Most High does not want any of our women to be harlots. Deeming that lifestyle as unrighteous. If he then does not want them engaged in it, why then would he want our men to marry them in a state that he hates? He wouldn’t.

Leviticus 19:29 KJVS

Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

Well, someone may say that is just Israel. But this lets you know in general do not prostitute your daughter. Lest, if you have her move as a harlot, the land becomes full of whoredom over time and wickedness increases as the lifestyle of living as a harlot and one being a whoremonger and sleeping with harlots causes one to take on other spirits and mentalities that become counterproductive to building a nation. And causes instability individually first and then collectively.

Deuteronomy 22:20-21 KJVS

But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: [21] Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

If a woman married a man and there was no proof of the woman’s virginity, she could be accused of playing the harlot. Meaning she is being accused of sleeping with another man prior and now sleeping with this man and these things were hidden. She played the whore and as such should be worthy of death and be stoned. Now if one says it is okay to sleep with harlots then what need would one have of stoning her. It should be acceptable. Especially, given the fact that she doesn’t do this as a profession. She just simply slept with at least one other man. It doesn’t mean she was a whore or harlot by trade or profession.

Sirach 9:3 KJVA

Meet not with an harlot, lest thou fall into her snares.

The scriptures tell us not to meet with a harlot. If a woman is living a lifestyle that is that of a harlot or whorish, you are commanded to not put yourself in a position where you are trying to meet with her (primarily alone) where you may be tempted to have sexual intercourse with her. Why?

Sirach 9:6 KJV

Give not thy soul unto harlots, that thou lose not thine inheritance.

It’s says give not thy soul! Over to harlots. In the act of lying with a harlot you make a soul tie. Yet, not one of love but one of death. Which can cost you your inheritance. And ultimately cost you your salvation as you gave up your soul; sold to the devil for a moment of pleasure through a woman.

Proverbs 9:14-18 KJVS

For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, [15] To call passengers who go right on their ways: [16] Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, [17] Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. [18] But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

If you don’t fight and change your ways you will find yourself spiritually dead with little to no hope of repentance. Don’t be simple, don’t be dumb. That woman is a succubus waiting to claim your soul.

Sirach 9:7 KJVA

Look not round about thee in the streets of the city, neither wander thou in the solitary place thereof.

The scriptures let us know to not even be in a place where we are looking around for a woman who loves that type of lifestyle. Even though one can still look in the streets this includes one looking in other places of solitude that may have harlots. So no Tinder, or Only Fans accounts or pages or using of any social media platform to deceive yourself into thinking you just trying to teach somebody or break a sister down. No, you have to avoid any situation that may be a stumbling block and not look on any platform for a woman that you know is suspect. That you know is not wife material and lives a promiscuous life or is not yet ready to repent.

1 Timothy 1:9-10 KJVS

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, [10] For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

The law is made to help guide those who love a wicked lifestyle toward the path of what is right or just. And living as a whoremonger is not a lifestyle that is in line with righteousness. A man who likes to sleep with various women and not take them on as a wife or wives is in line with a whoremonger as you are dealing with the women as whores. Even worse if you are dealing with women who live a promiscuous lifestyle and have not repented or even worse is an active hoe. You also have to consider that after all this is said and as stated in the last verse above. Can you really say sleeping with harlots or living that lifestyle is a sound doctrine to teach? And I would pray that by this point you have enough sound scriptures to repent, say no, and change the doctrine to what is sound and holy.

Hebrews 13:4 KJV

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

God says the marriage union between a man and woman is what is considered holy and honorable. Outside of that you are not accepted. If you are not in a marriage yet you are fondling, giving or receiving fellatio, making out, you name it. And this person is not your spouse you are playing with fire and are now in line with a whore or whoremonger you are now fornicating. And you will be judged if you do not repent.

Revelation 21:7-8 KJVS

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. [8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The other side of sleeping with harlots is that you are doing it usually because you are fighting a spirit of sexual lust. Which means you are not fighting your urges you are succumbing to them. You are allowing carnality to bear rule in your spirit rather than moving righteously through the Holy Spirit. It is only through overcoming these urges and staying free from sin that one can inherit the kingdom of heaven. If not, you will end up in the lake of fire.

Revelation 22:14-15 KJVS

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. [15] For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Yatab Yasharahla

Hebrews 2:13 KJVS

[13] And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
