The Law was Before Moses

We often read about the Books of Moses and believe that the law started when Moses received it and gave it to the Israelites. However this is far from the truth. The truth is that Moses reintroduced the laws to the Israelites, as the teachings died out and were not all passed down appropriately to the later generations; but the laws were in fact before Moses.

Abraham

Let us begin with father Abraham.

Genesis 26:5 KJVS

Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

What made Abraham loved by The Most High God was because he kept the Most High’s laws statutes and commandments. Abraham was not loved because he was tall, handsome or was good at a sport. He was loved because he made the choice to do as The Most High God instructed him to do; keep his laws.

Noah

Noah is another figure we read about who predates Abraham, yet was also considered righteous.

Genesis 7:2 KJVS

Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

God made a distinction between animals that are clean and animals that are unclean. Normally, when we hear this story or see depictions of it in movies, we do not see this distinction being made. We just assume all animals were gathered by two’s. Yet, for clean animals they were gathered by seven’s. Why?

Leviticus 11:47 KJVS

To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

One main reason was to distinguish between animals that could be eaten and animals that couldn’t. If this was to be a primary food supply for mankind it was important that man had enough to go around. Not just for Noah and his immediate family but the future generations as well.

Genesis 8:20 KJVS

And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord ; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Another main reason as to why Noah had to have seven of every clean beast was to have enough animals for animal sacrifices. In which, only clean animals could be used no unclean animals could be used or given to The Most High as a sacrifice.

Exodus 20:24 KJVS

An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

These same laws were passed down, or rather reinstated unto the Israelites later on.

Sirach 44:17 KJVA

Noah was found perfect and righteous; in the time of wrath he was taken in exchange [for the world;] therefore was he left as a remnant unto the earth, when the flood came.

Noah was a perfect and righteous man. And it wasn’t because of how he just felt or even how The Most High just felt. It was due to the actions of Noah weighed against and based off of the laws statues and commandments.

Genesis 7:1 KJVS

And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

Out of all the people on the face of the earth Noah and his household were righteous and were seen as the most just, and holy. And at that time, the only people on the face of the earth that were trying to keep The Most High’s laws. As he had learned them from his forefathers. Therefore, they were saved in that time.

Deuteronomy 6:25 KJVS

And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.

What makes us righteous is the sincere application of The Most High’s laws and commandment as a whole, not in partiality.

Cain and Abel

The laws go back even before Noah. As Cain and Abel knew the laws as well. Remember, the laws were given from the creation passed down to Adam who taught Eve as well as their children.

Genesis 4:7 KJVS

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Notice The Most High gave Cain a choice. If he did well, meaning if he did the right thing, he would be accepted. If he did not do well he would be in sin. Meaning what?

1 John 3:4 KJVS

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

You have to have laws in place in order to commit a sin. No law, would mean no sin. It was because Cain was breaking other laws that he was already in error and needed to repent. But he chose not to repent and went further into sin.

Romans 6:23 KJVS

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The wages of sin is death. If you do not change and fix your walk you will die. And this is the wisdom God was giving Cain. And that death does not have to come quick. And it isn’t always talking about the physical death but you have to worry about the spiritual as well. We all have to stand before The Most High and receive our final judgement.

Revelation 20:14 KJVS

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Yatab Yasharahla

Hebrews 2:13 KJVS

[13] And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
